Are the classes suitable for beginners or is prior experience recommended? The courses are designed for beginners. I teach one on one because when I taught in a classroom format I found that one or two students always felt left behind. In my experience, learning Reiki is less about "learning" and more about developing. Everyone develops at their own pace so one on one guidance is super beneficial - allowing the student to move through their coursework in a sovereign way that invites Divine timing into their adoption and integration of the practice. I began learning Reiki in 1996 and reached Mastery level in 2000. I come to this work second-generation and draw on my experience growing up with a Reiki Master Practitioner Mother and also my learnings from many, many teachers over the decades. I have practiced Reiki professionally for 25 years and I bring that knowledge into the classes I've created. Each student is deeply honored and treated with care and respect while they entrust their personal journey to me as a teacher and mentor.

What is the content covered in the courses and how they are structured? You will receive a syllabus, course materials, and a personalized planner. I teach Reiki in 3 parts: Reiki 1 is Self-Reiki (for inner work and personal energetic healing). Reiki 1 consists of 5 courses - the first 4 are rote learning and attaining new knowledge along with hands on practice and experience + PLAY! We do that together, in person (although I offer Zoom courses, too). Most local students come in person but Zoom is a nice option if there's inclement weather. A spirit of curiosity and play is very well suited towards understanding and embracing Reiki energy work :)  The 5th class is an Attunement up to Reiki 2. A Reiki Attunement is a ceremonial energetic upleveling with the support of Ascended Reiki Masters and Guides. The Attunement raises the vibration of the student's energy field and can be a very powerful "felt experience". Reiki 2 is Distance-Reiki (for budding practitioners to send energy across a distance of time and space to a Reiki recipient who is connecting with them virtually via phone or video OR connecting energetically through higher-self contact). Reiki 2 consists of 5 courses - the first 4 are about experience, practice, and (you guessed it!!) PLAY!. We do that together, in person. The 5th class is an Attunement up to Reiki 3. Reiki 3 is Reiki Mastery (for budding practitioners to learn in-person Reiki like what you have experienced in session with me). Reiki 3 consists of 5 courses - the first 4 are mostly practice and experience-based, which we'll do together. The 5th class is an Attunement to Mastery level (raising the vibration of the student to the highest level accessible to them at that time). Upon completion of each level (Reiki 1, Reiki2, and Reiki 3) Students receive a Reiki Certificate from me (backed by my long-standing membership with the International Association of Reiki Practitioners). Earning a Reiki 1 certificate qualifies you to do Self-Reiki (not that you need a certificate to do your own healing, but it's nice to have for validation and a sense of accomplishment). A Reiki 2 certificate qualifies you to offer Distance-Reiki (which you could certainly charge Reiki recipients for if you intend to earn compensation with your Reiki practice). A Reiki 3 certificate qualifies you to offer in-person Reiki (often appreciated by a Reiki student who intends to enter into a professional Reiki practice). Completion of these lessons and 8 practicum sessions (4 distance-Reiki + 4 in-person) will provide you with a Reiki III Certificate, Mastery Level (RPIII) in the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition of Reiki. Practicum sessions are the student's responsibility to carry out with Reiki recipients they find to volunteer for free sessions to help the student practice. I offer a lot of support around this (some students need help finding volunteers and I have a wide client-base who are more than willing to volunteer). For students who intend to create a professional practice I recommend that they find volunteers who will write a testimonial or review. This way there is a reciprocal exchange of energy (student gives the volunteer Reiki, the volunteer gives the student a written testimonial). The testimonials give the student feedback and validation which helps build their confidence and also helps them launch a professional practice with a handful of positive reviews to kick off their business. Course-work can be broken into 3 segments and payments can be adjusted, accordingly. For instance, some students begin with Reiki 1 ($400) and, upon completion, assess whether they're interested in moving onto Reiki 2 or beyond. Most students book on my website ($1,200 for all 3 classes). If that's not for you, right now, you can submit pro-rated payment of $400 for Reiki 1 through PayPal or Venmo. For students who intend to practice Reiki professionally I have created a presentation and slide deck to help the new-comer learn how to build a professional practice. That's an extra that some students opt into (60 minutes via Zoom @ $150). It's certainly not required but I want you to know the help is there, if you desire to create a small business in the field of Reiki healing or any other wellness practice. I have an AA in Business Administration, a BA in Business Development, and 10 years of experience developing successful start-ups in Los Angeles. I draw on those experiences and that business acumen to coach new graduates towards professional success. There is no competition in the world of healing work so I bring every effort towards lifting graduates up into their own practice. We need as many light-workers as we can get these days!

Are there any materials (books) or prerequisites required for participation? No pre-requisite required. Come as you are! I work with you very much on the individual level and adjust the coursework based on where you're at, in the moment, moment to moment. Again, it's about personal development rather than strict adherence to lesson plans or outcomes. I am here for YOU. I ask students to purchase Diane Stein's Essential Reiki as supplemental reading for the course-work. All other materials are provided by me and are included in the list price on my website (again, that price can be pro-rated based on whether you want all 3 levels of Reiki training or just 1 or 2). The additional materials I provide come in downloadable PDF format and are copyrighted by REiCOVERY. These consist of 3 Reiki Student Manuals and 1 Reiki Symbols Manual. The materials for the course-work are provided to the student several days before we begin our first class session together. I also provide an interactive, emergent course curriculum document that contains the homework and an outline for completing the assigned reading. Assigned reading is comprised of Diane Stein's Essential Reiki and the Reiki Student Manuals. It's all very digestible and is not intended to overwhelm any student. We allow the process of learning and development to unfold in Divine Timing so that each student can move through their Reiki experience at a pace that suits their personal needs and lifestyle.
